This is our third course run by Nikki Yeoh, who has been teaching here for 25 years.
It is a three-day piano refresher course led by Nikki Yeoh, with other star tutors Jason Rebello, Dian Gasper and on the third day, trumpeter Byron Wallen.
We were going to call it a New Year's Resolution course but decided it was too cornball. But the theory is generally that you might have slacked off over the
festive period OR, had more time to play and saw or heard that you needed to brush up. Also, how fantastic to have a lesson with Jason Rebello! Right? And Dian Gasper has worked here many times before, and has an easy, no nonsense touch with LOTS of industry tips and we ALWAYS get great feedback on his chatty, informal, but very informative teaching style.
We made a few investments and for this course, everyone has their own keyboard!
The course runs over three days, the 31st Jan-2nd Feb, with Nikki and Jason teaching the first day, Nikki and Dian teaching the second day and Nikki and Byron working together on the third day to do a workshop in transcription and also to actually play with him in the afternoon.
The topics to be covered, though not sure in what order yet, are chord progressions, solos, playing in duos, practice, comping for solos, transcription and several other topics to be confirmed.
The total cost is £250, cheaper than our other courses, and you can hold a place with a £50 deposit.
We will have a schedule closer to the date, but the day runs from 10-5:30 (the first half hour being an informal meet and greet) for that first day and 10:30-5:30 on the other days.

This is about mid-range level.
So not for beginners.
